This was then easy and and so GOOD!! I made it even easier by doing step 3 in the microwave instead of a double banality--only combine the chocolate and foam and heat at ane-infinitesimal intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is melted. Also, I made this for Thanksgiving and my mom doesn't similar to eat a lot of sugar, and then I used unsweetened chocolate (good quality, of course, is fundamental) and Splenda (probably most i/3 C). It turned out great. Oh, and as well I used a regular pastry pie crust instead of the cookie chaff. I think information technology was definitely the way to go. The filling is so rich, I think the cookie chaff would have been too much. I call back this recipe volition get a new holiday tradition. Thanks!!
04/25/2007
I made the filling only as a chocolate mousse in wine glasses, topped with whipped cream. It ready upwards beautifully adn everyone loved it, fifty-fifty the kids that had no idea what it was and were very nervous of trying information technology. I am definitely going to brand this again, and will likely try it as a pie adjacent time.

This recipe is and then easy and very tasty. I never review recipes, just this has been such a hit with my family and friends, I felt I must share. Every special occassion someone asks me to make this pie. I employ ghirardelli chocolate and add but a touch of coffee to the chocolate when melting it. Turns out perfect everytime!
02/07/2011
Fabulous. A wonderful addition is espresso pulverisation! Add information technology to the chocolate while melting (I used most a teaspoon)...it adds a little depth of flavor that is amazing to an already great recipe! I also HIGHLY suggest using chocolate in bar form (such equally Ghiradelli), because it melts much amend than chips. Not only does bar chocolate accept more cocoa butter, causing it to melt improve, merely chips have additives that are there to help them hold their shape by raising their melting temperature (why they are perfect for chocolate chip cookies), making them non the best tasting chocolate for melting either- partly because of the additives and partly because chocolate flavonoids are highly volatile and the less heat chocolate is subjected to the amend it will gustatory modality.

Oh my this is so good! I used the nutrient processor method and this went together super fast. I did utilise chocolate grahams instead of the cookies. Also instead of white sugar I used powdered sugar. Information technology mixes in much improve with the heavy cream than regular carbohydrate does. Came out perfect! Cheers.

I usually practise not rate recipes on this site but I had to for this one. Let me begin by saying that I am not a baker. With this recipe, completed with no changes, it was succulent. I will definitely make information technology again.
07/23/2010
Amazing amazing astonishing!!!! I have fabricated this three times already and I (and everyone else) love information technology! The chocolate does make a big difference on the finish outcome. I was surprised that the kroger brand belgian chocolate chips were better than the ghiradelli. The concluding time I made information technology, I bought little mason jars and put a sparse layer of crushed oreos in the bottom. I put the mousse on top, chilled them and so put a little whipped topping and a pinch of dark chocolate shavings on top. It was a huge striking and they looked beautiful. This is my favorite dessert recipe by far, Thank Yous!!!!
02/14/2011
The flavor was good, only to say this is rich is an understatement. You might as well eat a stick of butter. It actually made me feel sick, and I don't really take bug with food. I'd say either have a very tiny slice and walk away, or there are plenty of other recipes that can evangelize flavor and texture without this nauseating level of fat.
09/05/2010
Succulent and decadent.......I simply fabricated the mousse and placed it in martini glasses.....added some strawberries and the whipped foam. Elegant presentation and divine gustatory modality!
12/03/2009
Amazing! Instead of the Oreo crust, I took my favorite chocolate cake recipe, divided it into thirds, and baked in a ix-in circular pan, which I cooled and put in the bottom of the springform pan. My guests couldn't accept eaten more than than 1/12 of the cake/mousse.
03/11/2006
This was very good. I was thinking it may be a "chocolate overload", given the proper name of the recipe. It's really but an egg-less, whipped chocolate foam pie. For me, it didn't have the density of a mousse, even after refrigerating overnight. I did follow the recipe exactly, and used high quality (Ghirardelli) chocolate chips. Very good, just not overly rich, if that's what you lot're looking for. It was piece of cake, so I'd make information technology again if I needed a chocolate desert in a pinch.
06/21/2010
this is my 2d fourth dimension maing these. used slightly more than half milk chocolate, the rest semi-sugariness. lined cupcake pans with papers. filled each with about 1 tablespoon of the crust mixture, and divided the mousse into the cups (makes 24, or 12 for half the recipe). nce set, piped a rosette of whipped cream on each and topped with chocolate shavings. sets up groovy, and very cute.
03/08/2002
My daughter has made this a few times, and nosotros all totally savour it. One of the best "fattening" desserts I take had in a long time. Worth every calorie!
04/09/2012
This is my favorite dessert to bring to parties! Information technology's easy and then, so good. I get compliments every fourth dimension! At Christmas fourth dimension, I similar to add together a couple of teaspoons of peppermint extract to the whipped foam that tops the pie and sprinkle crushed peppermint candies on elevation. I likewise use this chocolate mousse to make full and height cakes and other desserts, or just by itself!
02/01/2012
Fantastic! I will probably brand information technology in a 13x9 pan next time instead of a springform pan so I tin cutting information technology into smaller squares. I don't normally brand my ain cookie crusts only I had the Oreos so I made it in the food processor and kept it coarse - came out peachy. I used Ghirardelli chocolate. I used the second method for #3 only will probably make information technology in the microwave adjacent fourth dimension.
09/fourteen/2012
I wanted to make a mousse that didn't take forever and utilize egg whites and gelatin ... (I know that sounds lazy ...) only this was just perfect and anybody loved it. Wonderful, like shooting fish in a barrel and tasty recipe! :) I highly recommend it.
06/11/2012
This easy recipe worked very well for me - I wanted an egg-free mousse to pipe into dessert shot glasses for a wedding reception. 3 batches of this yielded enough for 150 iii-oz shot spectacles... a lovely presentation when topped with whipped cream and garnished with mini chocolate chaplet! What a hit! Since I had extra chocolate/foam, I made a pie to take to dinner with the fam. Unfortunately it only got to sit for 4 hours--I think it could've used the extra 2 hours and it would've set up even better. BUT it tasted darn good! I used a graham cracker chaff, since information technology's what I had on hand, blistering for about 10 minutes. A perfect go-to recipe for egg-free chocolate mousse!
eleven/19/2012
My husband made a asking that I make chocolate mousse old in the week, so this is the recipe I came beyond. And oh my gosh...he loved it! It was then easy but really rich and airy. I made information technology exactly equally the recipe indicated, with no changes and it was fantastic. I used Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate, since it has such a unlike (and better) season than Nestle morsels, so I would suggest that. I may add a tablespoon or 2 of espresso the side by side time I make information technology, but just for experimentation'southward sake. The recipe is keen merely as it is.
03/07/2011
I idea this was admittedly wonderful. Simple to brand and incredibly rich. I chose non to make a crust and served it in wine and martini spectacles with the whipped cream and strawberries for Valentines day.
06/27/2010
Excellent. These adaptations might aid another Indian cook. For the base I used hide and seek - virtually 12 cookies was enough. I used choc chips from Nilgris and they tasted fine. I used Amul cream, but took a long while to whip. I used 3 cartons - ane for melting and ii for whipping to mix. I omitted the last loving cup for decoration - idea I volition buy whipped foam in a tin can but didn't do that also in the end. I added a t-spoon of instant coffee to the chips while melting. Melted in the microwave.. melted in near 90 secs on high. Though it was a little wobbly when I put it in the fridge, information technology firmed upwards nicely when chilled. I put it in the fridge for 3 days earlier using information technology and information technology was splendid.
08/23/2005
Totally crawly!
01/10/2012
Super easy (I used the microwave for the heavy cream and choc. chips) and tastes delicious! I made in a pie pan and had some leftover mousse for the family members that accept to eat gluten free. It was a hit with the kids and adults!
12/17/2010
OH-MY-GOD! The proper noun of this recipe really justify the consequence! This is highly recommended for the chocoholics who needs a satisfying chocholate set up! Delight note that it is actually advisable to include the whipped cream on top as it balances the very rich chocolate taste of this heavenly dessert!
01/05/2011
I used a ready made chocolate pie shell, but followed the recipe exactly aside from that. My gosh information technology was FABULOUS! I served it at Christmas dinner and people had 2nd and third helpings of it. It is incredibly rich, withal lite. My husband asked me to arrive for his birthday adjacent month instead of cake.
06/24/2010
I decided to brand this after all of the loftier reviews. I used a store bought crust and cooled the chocolate filling in the freezer for about 20 min. stirring every 5 minutes. I did this to salvage time, before I realized the pie needs to ready upwards for six hours! Either style the title is very correct. This is the most chocolaty mousse I accept ever tasted! I am guessing because information technology required a full bag of chocolate chips. The texture and gustatory modality is very chocolaty and very rich! Just, I really liked that after the adjacent twenty-four hour period in the fridge I added the whipped cream information technology set up up and sliced very nicely, a good alter from almost chocolate mousse pies. But, since this is then extremely rich, I could only eat near a 1/2 slice. So, this is definitely a special occasion treat.
11/28/2011
Deeeelicious! Sinful! Decadent! Sometimes it is ok to relish in those things, and this dessert is one of those times. :) A very simple recipe. The only things I did differently were instead of white sugar in the whipped cream portion, I used powdered saccharide and cut information technology down to 1/eight cup, and skipped the whipped cream dollop on meridian. This recipe contains plenty foam already to increase cholesterol levels past 20 points in i sitting. I had never fabricated mousse earlier, but it won't exist my last. Thank you for this not bad recipe - it'south going into my binder. No baking (other than the chaff), no eggs, no flour, and really no added sugars in the filling.
09/09/2009
Can I give this 10 stars? First try, and it was a HUGE hit at a party!!!!!!! If you give this less than 5 stars because you retrieve it is chocolate overload or also rich, then you obviously didn't read the title! I made the filling but as instructed, using Ghiradelli. I wouldn't double the crust as others suggested. I added an extra v oreos and another tablespoon of butter. I only pressed it up the side of the pan about an inch and the thickness was perfect all around. This will be my new solution to the question "Tin can yous bring a dessert?"
01/07/2011
I followed recipe exactly and I made some some whipped cream that was VERY lightly sweetened and it gave it the perfect taste. I'grand a devoted chocolate lover and this is one I just tin can't stop talking and bragging almost. YUMMY!
x/10/2011
Wow..... This is really good. I didn't have the chocolate sandwich cookies, and so I used Oreo cookies instead. I don't recommend this, the crust was too hard. Fifty-fifty with the tougher crust it was even so a fabulous mousse. It is then light you don't realize how rich it is until you go for seconds, and then blam!, you have a chocolate overdose experience....only it didn't stop me :)
09/30/2012
Astonishing chocolate mousse recipe. The only modify I made to the recipe was that I also added espresso pulverisation as other reviewers suggested. The mousse has such a wonderful texture, it is so rich and decadent. I have tried many other mousse recipes, and this is the most delicious recipe I have found. Thanks and so much for the recipe. This will certainly be on the desert menu on Christmas this year.
07/ten/2011
I just did this without the crust and not as much cream. This recipe is neat considering if you utilise the food processor, it simply takes a few minutes to prepare. Very rich, so not much is needed to go rid of your sweet tooth. I split this into 6 servings and topped with a little flake of whipped cream.
09/30/2010
I followed another reviewer's suggestion and merely fabricated the mousse part, and served in painted martini spectacles (for our family BD dinner for my son). We all loved this, and yeah information technology is rich. The food processor method is easy. Thank you for sharing a winner!
11/xvi/2011
I made the mousse for this pie for a wine tasting party and paired it with a reddish moscato. This mousse is unbelievably good. Information technology was the hitting of the party! Since I don't have a food processor or double boiler, I microwaved the cream, chocolate, vanilla and salt on 70% power at one minute increments, mixing thoroughly afterward each minute. It worked great and was quick, even with the cheap store brand chocolate fries. Will be making once more presently!
12/25/2011
wow was this recipe rich and lovely mousse texture.... very practiced..... not overly difficult either.... very good got great reviews...
01/03/2012
Really succulent. I did as another reviewer suggested and baked a chocolate block (I used chocolate oil cake on this site) equally a base of operations and layered the mousse on top. Really skilful, and looked very impressive! Really rich though; side by side time I'm going to bring it to somebody else's house to they can have care of the inevitable leftovers!
08/08/2010
Made this for a fundraiser and got rave reviews. Followed another reviewer'southward tip to add ane tsp. instant java to deepen the flavor even more. Skipped the oreo crust and used a ziploc handbag to pipage the mousse into dessert cups (1 recipe makes 12 pocket-size portions). Let them set overnight, and so topped with whipped cream and mint shortbread leaves only before serving.
07/23/2006
I did the option with mixing by food processor and this recipe was so Like shooting fish in a barrel and information technology is and so GOOD!!! I will definitely be making this again.
01/09/2010
Merely to die for, but work intensive when you brand your own caramel sauce, whipped cream, and pudding. Hubby went over the edge! AWESOME! Since in that location are just two of us, I made sixteen little bowls. (Husband tin can eat four in one sitting to my one, and then adjacent fourth dimension, I volition separate into 3 big bowls and 4 little ones.) Much meliorate second and third 24-hour interval subsequently the flavours have melded. Cheers for an absolutely guilty pleasure!
02/thirteen/2011
Skilful name and WOW was this good! I made this but as a mousse (no crust) served in glasses. Rum whipped cream was the topping with a sprinkle of cocoa. The room grew tranquillity when anybody first tasted....and so the rave reviews started to flow. Wonderful and like shooting fish in a barrel. I'll definitely brand this again.
06/25/2010
Fabulous! Made this for my married man for Male parent'south Solar day and he loved information technology, along with my MIL, and 9yo daughter and niece and nephew. I don't accept a springform pan, so I used a square drinking glass pan and it worked just fine. I also don't have a double banality and so I melted the chocolate in the microwave, 1 min on high, stir, so 30 seconds on 50%, stir afterward each 30 seconds until mixture is blended. And then follow residuum of directions. Very easy to make. I volition definitely make this agin and again and once more!
08/10/2010
Yum, this is and so corrupt and delicious. I used a prepared chocolate crust, and had enough mousse left over to fill up four parfait cups. I actually preferred the mousse on it's own, but the pie topped with whipped cream (and chocolate shavings!) was pretty darn good too. This is incredibly rich, so some people had a hard fourth dimension finishing their pie. I used the food processor method, and it was so easy.
04/08/2012
slightly bitter for my taste which is probably explained considering I added ane/4 cup of french roast coffee. but this tasted amazing paired with whipped cream and strawberries. with out the toppings though I would add a bit more sugar. I also used confectioner's sugar as recommended and got very smooth mousse.
eleven/05/2011
I used a 9.5" jump grade pan, using 5 boosted Oreos. I used milk chocolate chips. I took this to a potluck at work where it was a huge striking. Information technology's even yummier with a cup of coffee. Nosotros didn't find it to be also dense. Peradventure because of the milk chocolate? It was perfect! Can't await for another occasion to make it.
12/31/2011
And then easy to make ! I made it for new years and didn't change a thing .. All I can say is WOW!! This was phenomenal! I'll Def make again...
11/25/2005
Then simple, quick & succulent
04/29/2012
Holy cow this was skilful. Fabricated this for party yesterday and the whole thing was gobbled up. I think the addition of whipped foam on top is necessary when using semi-sweet chocolate. I took the advcie of another reviewer and used pie chaff instead of cookie crust and loved that too.
01/12/2012
This was too easy to exist so delicious! I dear chocolate and this had the perfect amount of season and richness for me (and everyone who tried it!). I fabricated a homemade graham cracker pie crust instead of using a chocolate ane as I thought that might be besides much for our guests. The amount of chocolate filling was plenty to fill up two 9-inch pie pans and then I may cutting the recipe in half adjacent time. I did not take a double broiler so I just melted the chocolate in a pan on low heat and that worked great. The smooth, creamy texture just makes yous desire to savor every seize with teeth! This will exist my get-to chocolate pie from now on!
08/13/2012
THIS IS FANTASTIC! Then simple to make, but its such a succulent and impressive dish. I also heated the choclate fries and cream together in 30 second intervals in the microwave making sure to stir afterward each circular. I prefer 30 2d intervals because yous want to melt the chocolate slowly...once its scorched then the chocolate is ruined. The second time I made it I added some fresh sliced strawberries onto the piped whipped cream. It made such a beautiful disdplay and added a little somethimg to the pallet to residual the cholcoate (dont get me wrong I loooove chocolate). Cheers then much for sharing!
12/11/2010
delicious! smooth, flossy and full of exquisite chocolate flavor. Very rich, a pocket-sized slice goes a long way.
12/17/2013
This was GREAT! I followed the recipe exactly, except I made a dozen 4 oz. cups lined with lady fingers. This recipe will make exactly a dozen, filled with mousse nigh to the brim. I got the glass dishes at the Dollar Tree store (iv 4-oz. dishes per pack - 25 cents each!). Lady fingers come in a flat of 12. They're already split lengthwise so I used one whole lady finger for each dish. I placed a half lady finger on the lesser and the other half I broke in half once more (the short manner) and propped each half against the one-half at the bottom. The completed mix pours nicely into the dishes and settles cleanly around the lady finger. The lady fingers don't absorb the mousse and will hold up, providing an added non-also-sweet texture to the dessert. Likewise, I was short on fourth dimension. I put the melted-bit mixture in the freezer and stirred often, until it got to room temp. The beaten cream folded in nicely. Once the mousse was poured into the dishes, I placed them all in the freezer again to set upwardly. They were in for well-nigh an hour, with no harm to the mousse. Transporting them was tricky: I have a cooler chest that is only the height of soda cans. I lined the bottom with freezer packs; placed a cookie sheet over the cold packs and placed a cut rubber mat (I had clean, anti-slip rug-mesh) on the bottom of the cookie tray. They stayed still through the drive and stayed cold for three more hours (when eaten). Everyone LOVED it!!
11/27/2012
TEN STARS ********** OK, seriously the most amazing domicile made choc mousse EVER. I fabricated it for Thanksgiving and instead of a regular pie I fabricated mini pies in stonemason jars. For the crust I just put some Oreo cookie crumbs at the bottom of the jar and filled the jar with the mousse. I allow them sit down overnight and they were PERFECT the adjacent day (they were too astonishing 3 days later on). I did add a fiddling Starbucks Via powder (Christmas Blend) to the chocolate as it was melting....that is the only change I made. D E L I S H and so easy. OH, and I used the double boiler method with simmering h2o in a pot and a glass bowl on top (don't let the water touch the basin, the bowl must sit an inch or so to a higher place the water).
xi/27/2011
Actually good!! I used nestle semi sweet chocolate chips and they were sooo good! Everyone raved over it. I was and so surprised how it set so easily!!! Will make once again!
01/22/2011
Awesome, made this for my sons altogether political party and it was a large hit and there was none left! I will definitely exist making this again!
02/twenty/2012
Delicious and easy!
11/28/2011
Information technology is very rich merely it was a large hit. Definitely will brand again.
05/23/2014
Easy and astonishing. Make certain to utilize good quality chocolate chips; I think that's key. Information technology's very rich and soooooo good.
12/07/2011
incredibly delicious. I made this for Canadian thanksgiving and information technology was a huge hit. a couple of weeks later I made six more for an event (allow me annotation it was for l teenagers) they ALL adored it, then if it is good for 50 teenagers i think it is proficient for anyone. I am going to experiment with layering raspberries into information technology, chocolate and raspberries has got to be the best combo ever!
12/27/2011
The Oreo crust makes this recipe! Very rich (equally mousse should be) and really but irresistible. Not bad classic dessert to share afterwards a repast.
01/01/2010
I just made this for my father... Will deliver tomorrow...It actually filled two shop bought deep dish pie shells (buttered them and baked at 375 for 15 minutes). Added nearly 1/4 Loving cup of Torani's Hazelnut syrup to the melting chocolate mixture. Yous must have patience when making the whipped cream. If you don't have nice peaks information technology won't set upward when you introduce the chocolate mixture. But I dont' have the patience to make the whipped cream for the topping...(Redi Whip to the rescue). Next time will top with some candied pecans and drizzle with some cararmel and chocolate sauce. It'due south a keeper.
06/01/2010
Perfect Recipe! Served this every bit our Memorial Day dessert and nosotros loved every bite! Followed it exactly and will make this i again. The gustatory modality and texture is wonderful. My son's birthday is next week and he has decided that this is his choice for his "cake". Thanks for sharing!
01/07/2010
I agree with some other reviews that this is not really a mousse texture only information technology is still an excellent eggless dessert. Was very piece of cake to make. I followed the proposition to do step 3 in a microwave which makes it completely hasslefree. I added a teaspoon of instant coffee powder to the chocolate mix when I made information technology the 2nd fourth dimension which made it really 'wow' Also worked great equally a layer between chocolate cake.
03/10/2012
Made this every bit is and it was delicious!
04/29/2010
Used the food processor method. Turned out bang-up. I used semisweet chocolate chips. Adjacent time I volition effort milk chocolate. Overall easy recipe, I had it put together and in the refrigerator inside 20 minutes! Thank you for sharing!
05/24/2010
Wow. This was awesome, decadent, and like shooting fish in a barrel!!! It was made for chocolate lovers. I used Ghirardelli bittersweet morsels and the chocolate flavor was intense and satisfying! I made the mousse filling and put it in glasses (scrapped the pie thought because I wanted individual "servings") and topped with fresh made whipped cream. WONDERFUL DISH! I had requests for the recipe. Will certainly keep this recipe handy.
08/27/2011
I hate chocolate mousse in general- but my girl and dear love it. Well, I actually like this mousse... It is delicious- Try it, and y'all'll love it too :) Rich and flavorful, it disappears then fast your caput may spin!
03/17/2011
Oh my God this recipe is divine for any chocolate lover. It is so piece of cake to make and doesn't take much time at all. The only problem is that information technology may live up to its name considering it is really rich.
x/15/2014
This recipe is uncomplicated amazing! I could accept eaten the whole cake!
eleven/25/2011
I made this for thanksgiving. I followed the recipe as written, using ghiradelli milk chocolate chips. Information technology came out great, and was the just dessert completely gone at the terminate of the nighttime. Will definitely make this again!
01/25/2009
This recipe is very good, but also quite rich. I doubled the cookie chaff based on others' comments and it was a bit too thick, so I recollect 1 ane/2 times the crust recipe would've been best. I flavored the whipped foam topping with four Tablespoons of Hazelnut Kahlua liqeur and reduced the sugar to 2 Tablespoons -- came out great. I topped it with fresh raspberries and lightly toased, finely chopped pecans. It wowed my guests. I will definitely make this once more. This dessert tastes best when served closer to room temp (merely still slightly chilled) -- the texture is more creamy and silky. (You lot tin can also observe this recipe on epicurious.com -- it's called "chocolate mousse pie.")
01/12/2011
I brand this for all the holiday and special events. My family and friends love this recipe. I believe i take given out more than a hundred copies of it.
12/21/2018
I have made this several times. It is awesome!!! I have fifty-fifty fabricated it as a white moose ( used vanilla Oreo's and white choc fries). I am no fan of white choc merely my married man and kids loved it more than the choc one. I call up I may try adding Kahlua to the recipe adjacent time..hmmmm
11/26/2014
Proficient, but what a mess it was to brand! If I practice information technology once more, I'll make it in a pie plate, rather than a springform pan. It leaked out everywhere!
03/26/2014
I've used this site for years, but this is my first review. I'chiliad not much on making desserts, as I go more pleasance from preparing savory vegetables, meats, pasta dishes & soups. I planned a menu for judges at a music contest and chose this as one of the desserts. Per other reviews, I used powdered sugar and Information technology WAS FABULOUS! So good in fact, that I fabricated some other 1 last night - In that location was only one minor piece left afterward the competition for me to try :) The second time I used one/two milk chocolate and 1/ii dark chocolate chips=Yum Yum! I'll try adding some espresso next time, every bit I love chocolate and coffee together. BTW-store bought chocolate crust is plenty skillful with such a rich filling and saves on training time!
04/29/2011
This was fantastic! I took information technology for a birthday at piece of work and everyone that ate it said information technology was heaven.
12/25/2013
this is a perfect recipe... i just non used that much chocolate only yet that was yummm.... my family n kids were very happy
11/26/2010
My family absolutely LOVED this recipe. It was pretty simple to make. I didn't have a double banality or a food processor so I just used a regular bucket over very depression heat and it turned out peachy! This is definitely for special occasions only at our business firm...information technology is very rich merely oh so succulent! ;)
01/08/2011
Piece of cake to do, very 'lite' and tastes great..Proficient dessert
01/01/2014
I use this simply for the chocolate mousse that i serve in dessert glasses...anybody loves them!
08/18/2012
The crowd favorite! So easy to make, yet so succulent. I added about 1/4 cup of espresso to the chocolate while it was melting to give it that extra "punch." This will definitely remain in my top 5 "Go-To Desserts" list.
07/xix/2009
WONDERFUL! Yet I didn't make the oreo crust because information technology sounded like over-kill. I tried it twice once with gheridelli chocolate and in one case with hershy'south and gheridelli was much better!
12/25/2013
Outstanding and easy to brand. This brought smiles all around on Christmas Day. For the chocolate lovers out there this is a must.
eleven/30/2014
This recipe was admittedly to die for! Everybody loved information technology. I accept a few tips. Showtime, I used a pre-made oreo cookie crust. This saves you the work of making a chaff yourself and also lets you throw the pan away when the pie is gone (which will probably exist very quickly!) Second, I used the nutrient processor method to brand the chocolate mixture. This worked perfectly. The chocolate was creamy and silky smooth with absolutely no lumps. Finally, the pie filling is essentially only a delicious, creamy chocolate mousse. It was fantastic even by itself, and then I just put some of the mousse filling aside in a little disposable pie pan for those who were gluten-free. They were thrilled. I am definitely making this recipe again. My only thwarting was that I didn't make more!
07/23/2008
This was a very quick, easy reciepe. Perfect dessert for guest considering of the short time it took to brand and the taste was excellent.
02/22/2010
Awesome!!
07/02/2010
I made this recipe as is, merely didn't add any cream to the top of the cake. This is a wonderfully rich and succulent block and so easy to make!!
01/04/2014
This is the only chocolate pie I will ever make, from now on!! I had chocolate mousse 25 years ago, prepared by a friend that is a professional chef in NYC. I have tried since and so to duplicate information technology. This is it!!!! It's worth the indulgence, believe me, you lot don't desire to miss out on making this. I did use a pre-made chocolate graham cracker crust. The mousse tin stand up on it's own, however, if y'all adopt to skip the crust. Actually skilful if you lot are a chocolate lover, I fabricated mine with half semi sugariness and half milk chocolate chips. Well as you can see, I skipped steps 1&2. Hither's what I did. Blow upwardly well-nigh viii water balloons, set bated. Cook a package of good quality chips, I used nighttime chocolate. I also used a cereal type basin, and melted them in the microwave. When chocolate is smooth, dip balloons into it, swirling them around a bit to make sides even. Place on parchment paper covered tray. The balloons will stand. Identify in frig until you're mousse is made. When your mousse is prepared, pop balloons, pipage mousse into bowl and refrigerate until ready to serve. Garnish with fresh whipped cream. BIG HIT!
